The familiar trio of ‘Draper, Edwards and Barker’ lead a sea of navy red and white singlets off on a 5 lap journey tackling the ’10 miler’ in anticipation of completing the fourth Browne Shield event.

Twelve venues were represented including Bendigo. The fine weather conditions lifted spirit and soul as runners strived for ‘personal bests’ with some outstanding results.

Shane Draper entered the VMA arena in this event 12 months ago and has consistently shown improvement throughout the season to take line honors, followed by Andrew Edwards and Steven Barker. The women offered equally strong competition with Bronwen Cardy, Michelle

Stevenson and Lavinia Petrie leading the ladies over the line.

The M65’s presented an exciting finish for 2nd and 3rd place, with Phil Urquart and Gabriel Carmona powering home with only 2 seconds separating them, and in the M80’s Aberfeldie’s most consistent runner Bill Page again took home gold.

A big thankyou to the following people for their support in setting up and conducting the event – John D, John H, Bill, Ernie, Graziano, Alf, Jenny, Jimmy, Graham Paul and our stalwart timer Les Clarke.

It's official!
