The 10,000m Track Championship is the first event of the five events in the winter series of the Inter venue Browne Shield competition. This competition also includes awards for the “most consistent” and “most improved” athlete based on the age graded percentages for both male and female athletes. You need to compete in at least four of the five events to be eligible for these awards.
The five events are: 10,000m Track (16/5), 6/8km Cross Country 11/6), 10km Road (16/7), 10 Mile Road (13/8) and the half Marathon (3/9)
The event also counts toward the recently announced VMA annual Teams Championship. This Championship includes all of the VMA’s new “marquee” Masters 30+ events (all VMA championship events over a 12 month period)
To enter you need to be 30+ years of age and be a Masters’ affiliated athlete. Interstate and Overseas athletes are welcome to compete by invitation. Any non-masters affiliated athlete will be required to join Victorian Masters Athletics (VMA) – for the special new member cost of just $10/athlete. For non-affiliated Masters athletes, membership of VMA will be activated when “I have no Masters affiliation” is selected on page 2 of the online entry form. This affiliation will allow athletes to enter other VMA events in the “Masters 30+” marquee event series throughout 2023. New VMA members will join a team of their choosing (note the VMA Event Manager will contact new VMA members for this event to arrange this).
All athletes are to wear their 30+ Team / Venue competition tops in line with recent VMA State Championships and Track & Field Pentathlon.
Event entry: $10, entries close Wednesday 10 May 23:59 pm
No entries will be accepted after the entries close date or on the day.
