ANDY SALTER MEMORIAL RELAY

When – Wednesday, 7th February 2024

Where – Knox Park, Bunjil Way, Scoresby

Please note the change of venue. Due to ongoing works at the Ross Reserve track there is limited access to facilities. In conjunction with Knox (where quite a few of the Springvale athletes are currently attending) we have decided a better option is to relocate to Knox for 2024 where there will be more space for team organisers and after event festivities.

The event will start/finish in the carpark outside the Knox track, and be an out and back course using the bike track. The distance will be 3 km for runners and 2 km for walkers.

Challenge teams must consist of three men and one woman, and the total combined age of the team must be at least 175 years. The winning team will be presented with the “Andy Salter Perpetual Trophy” to hold for 12 months. Members of the first three teams receive trophies.

Fun Run teams consist of four runners, but there is no age (other than runners being of Masters age) or gender restrictions.

The Bert Warburton Walk Relay is over a 2 km course. Teams consist of three walkers of Masters age and with no gender restrictions.

To give everyone a chance at a trophy, all run and walk teams will compete on an estimated time basis. Upon entry, teams nominate an estimated total team time. The teams (one run and one walk) that finish closest to their estimated time will receive trophies. The first three Challenge teams will be excluded, having already received trophies.

Entry fee is $20.00 per run team and $15 per walk team, payable on registration between 6.30 pm and 7.00 pm on the night.

The program for the night is;

• 7.00 pm 100 metres sprint
• 7.10 pm Andy Salter relay/Bert Warburton relay
